Jan. 4th, 2006 -- While speaking to a group of shareholders overseas in mid-December,
Viacom CEO Sumner Redstone hinted that should the right price be
offered, they would likely sell the company's theme park and publishing devisions. Although both assets are profitable, Redstone and others
in the company do not see the growth potential they'd like from either
the Paramount Parks or Simon & Schuster publishing divisions. Analysts are skeptical that any buyers would surface. The proposed sale of Six Flags earlier in the year was unsuccessful and many feel any efforts to move Paramount Parks would be met with similar results. See MSN Money for more.
