News: Disney plans nonspinning Mission: SpaceBy jaytowers02 |
May. 2nd, 2006 --
About a month after a woman died after riding Mission: Space, Disney decided to offer a milder version of the ride.Park officials said they plan to offer two versions of the ride by the beginning of the summer: the original and a milder version. Mission: Space features centrifuges that simulate the G-forces felt while launching into outer space. Riders experience no more G's than occur on major roller coasters, Disney said. There are also numerous warning signs around the ride warning people not to ride if they have heart problems or other medical problems. The mild version will not spin, they say.
