News: AstroWorld property being sold for $77 million

May. 12th, 2006 -- Angel McIver Co., a real-estate company, is planning on buying the land Six Flags AstroWorld sat on for $77 million.

The president of Angel McIver said his company has a contract to buy the land. The deal is scheduled to go through on June 1 for the 104-acre site.

Officials with Angel McIver have not said what they plan on doing with the land. Real estate experts say the land may be put to use as medical, office, retail and other uses.

Six Flags AstroWorld closed on Oct. 30, 2005. Several rides were moved to other Six Flags parks.
