May. 12th, 2006 --
Recreational vehicle giant Couch's Campers is currently working on a four-phase, $2 million expansion on the site of the former Americana Amusement Park, LeSourdsville Lake. The expansion will include a new service center as well as a 30,000-square-foot indoor showroom. Resembling a strip mall, the showroom was said to be one of the largest of its kind in the state of Ohio. A 30-foot atrium will also be built to connect the showroom with the store and offices. The company's founder, Jerry Couch, said he also plans to develop 50 to 100 camp sites that will make up a camping grounds which will be used by customers as well as for short-term camping outings. LeSourdsville Lake operated for about three months in 2002. It hasn't re-opened since. For more information, visit JournalNews (Free subscription required).
