News: Six Flags New Orleans' future still unclearBy BryanWood |
Jun. 5th, 2006 --
Six Flags is still uncertain of the future of their New Orleans theme park. A spokeswoman for the company says the chain is still waiting on insurance assessments on the park, which was heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina.Six Flags is still unsure about a 2007 return for the park, saying they have no timetable in place. Much of the park will need repairs, which will take quite a bit of time. Like most of the east part of New Orleans, Six Flags New Orleans was submerged by water for an extended period of time. No damage estimates are available and all of the park's full-time staff was offered relocation within the Six Flags chain. For more information, see: The Mobile Press-Register. |
