Jun. 8th, 2006 -- Blowing Rock, N.C. – America’s Favorite Cowboys, Riders In The Sky, will saddle up at Tweetsie Railroad July 15 and 16 with shows of Western harmony and comedy. The multi Grammy award-winning Western music group, whose music has its roots in the rich American music traditions of such legendary cowboys singers as Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and the Sons of the Pioneers, are legends in their own right. Their fun-filled performances have enchanted audiences of all ages and their fans eagerly look forward to their annual appearances at Tweetsie.The quartet will perform two shows daily at noon and 3:00 p.m. at Tweetsie Railroad. Riders In The Sky will perform songs like “Woody’s Roundup,” their Grammy-winning song from the movie Toy Story 2 soundtrack, as well as traditional Western favorites. Since 1977, Riders In The Sky has delivered pure and priceless entertainment to millions of fans around the world. Band members Ranger Doug, “Idol of American Youth”, Woody Paul, “King of the Cowboy Fiddlers”, Too Slim, and Joey, “The CowPolka King” have combined refreshing acoustical music and a wide musical repertoire with outrageous comedy, delivering entertainment guaranteed to delight listeners of all ages and musical preferences. The moment the group steps to the microphone the magic begins, allowing listeners to lose themselves in the romantic, comical and whimsical world of the singing cowboy. Tweetsie Railroad is located in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains on US Highway 321 between Blowing Rock and Boone. The park is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Seating for the Riders In The Sky concert is on a first-come first-seated basis, and is included in Tweetsie Railroad’s regular admission prices of $27 for adults and $19 for children age 3 through 12.
