Aug. 24th, 2006 --
The new owners of Ghost Town in the Sky have announced they will invest $5 million into the theme park before its re-opening in 2007. The announcement of re-opening the park has generated a huge buzz in Maggie Valley. Hotels are banding together to help promote the park. At a recent open house celebration, over 750 people had to be turned away because the party was full. An amusement ride consultant says that the park's rides are not as bad as people imagined they would be. Many of the rides were well-kept when operating and still in good shape. The owners will immediately get to work repairing the park's chairlift and roller coaster. For more information, see: The Smoky Mountain News. |
