News: Cedar Fair to change to entertainment company By James R

Nov. 1st, 2006 -- On October 25th, Cedar Fair, based in Sandusky, announced that it plans to call itself Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. from then on. Despite the name change, legally, the company will remain Cedar Fair LP. The head of investor relations, Stacy Frole, stated that all future business will be performed with the new name, a name suggested at a board meeting after the company purchased Paramount Parks this past June. The company has said it will discuss the name change in its conference call with industry analysts tomorrow, November 1. According to Ms. Frole, "Cedar Fair LP doesn’t really describe what we are anymore. We're more than just amusement parks. We're also live shows, Halloweekends, restaurants, hotels, promotions, and water parks." For more information, click here.
