News: Geauga Lake to remove X-Flight

By Katie

Nov. 22nd, 2006 -- Geauga Lake and it's parent company Cedar Fair has decided to remove its newest roller coaster to another park.

X-Flight, a Vekoma flying dutchman, built in 2001 is already being dismantled. The $15 million dollar roller coaster was the midwests first "flying coaster".

The desicion was made after a lackluster year in attendance at the park. The numbers were quite low despite putting $30 million dollars in the last two years into expanding the water park.

Neither Cedar Fair or Geauga Lake is saying where the roller coaster will be going to in the chain.
