Finance: Joyland Amusement Park foreclosure

By Hector

Mar. 2nd, 2004 -- Stanley and Margaret Nelson sold Joyland Amusement Park, in Wichita, Kan., to former General Manager David Rohr, but kept the note-keeping a silent role with the park until now.

On February 11, the Nelsons filed a motion to forclose the park under the ownership of Rohr and Rohr Enterprises, the parent company of Joyland. Rohr also owes the Nelsons more then $1.6 million.

The Nelsons claim Rohr has failed to make an installed payment to the property's note, among other bills that have gone unpaid.

They also claim Rohr has failed to provide security and proper maintenance for the park.

The Nelsons want to see the park remain open. Joyland has been operating since 1949.
