News: Girl's feet severed at Kentucky Kingdom By Graham

Jun. 21st, 2007 -- A 13-year-old girl sustained injuries during an accident on Superman - Tower of Power at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom at around 4:45pm. Louisville Metro Police confirmed that the girl's feet had been severed at the ankle. Witnesses claim that they saw a cable from the ride hit the child while the passengers were on their way down during Superman - Tower of Powers free fall. Superman - Tower of Power opened at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in 1995. The ride was built buy Intamin AG and was their first Giant Drop installation. It is 177 feet tall with a 157 foot free fall that reaches speeds of 54 miles per hour. Superman - Tower of Power was formerly named Hellevator.
