News: Girl falls from Six Flags America ride By James R

Aug. 4th, 2007 -- On August 3, 2007, a 4-year-old girl fell out of a ride at Six Flags America, in Largo, Md. Prince George County officials said the girl sustained hip, leg and possible head wounds, though the injuries are reportedly not life-threatening. The accident happened on the "Octopus" ride, when the girl stood up on the ride and fell out as the ride began to move. Witnesses told county officials she tumbled up to 25 feet, but Six Flags America park officials reported that she had actually fell four feet. The girl was conscious when medical aid arrived and, as a precaution, was flown to a local hospital. The ride has been closed in order to be inspected. For more information, visit NBC4.
