Nov. 6th, 2007 -- The Great Wall of China will soon no longer be the only giant in the land. Beijing is building a Ferris wheel taller than the London Eye and the Singapore Flyer.The Great Wheel of China will tower at 682 ft when finished in 2009, and become the tallest and largest Ferris wheel in the world. The wheel will have 48 air-conditioned cabins, each with the ability to carry up to 40 passengers. Officials say that on a good day, riders will be able to see the Great Wall from the ride. “The wheel will stand in eastern Beijing's Chaoyang Park, where beach volleyball events will take place at next year's Olympics, and have far greater capacity than the London Eye”, an official said.
