News: Wild West World finds prospective buyer

By BryanWood

Mar. 27th, 2008 -- Wild West World, the failed theme park that opened and closed last year in Wichita, has found a potential owner.

Murphy Brothers Exposition of Tulsa, Oklahoma has filed a motion to buy the park with a bankruptcy court. The purchase price is said to be $2 million. Murphy Brothers would like to open the park by the end of summer, but the park has been in a state of disrepair since it closed in July of 2007.

Other bidders still have time to try to top the bid before May 8th. If no one bids, Murphy Brothers can close on May 31st. They would put 35 rides in the park at a cost of $4.2 million, funded by local industrial bonds.
