The company wants to build the lodge on the site of a campground next to Kings Island and would relocate it. An indoor waterpark is among many amenities at the proposed resort, which is still in its preliminary planning stages.

The Great Lakes Companies, Inc. have previously built the highly successful Great Bear Lodge near Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH and Great Wolf Lodges in Traverse City, MI, Wisconsin Dells, WI and Kansas City.
