Apr. 7th, 2008 -- Village Roadshow has received a public agreement from the Werribee Open Range Zoo to submit plans for a theme park to the Victorian government. The park would be named African Safari World and open in 2010.
The 40-hectacre theme park would be intergrated into the zoo itself. Zoo officials stressed that they want to retain ownership of the zoo while allowing Village Roadshow to operate the theme park. They also said they would be willing to part with some of their land. Roller Coasters, thrill rides and safari tours would all be included as part of the theme park experience.
