Apr. 7th, 2008 -- Six Flags New England finally received approval from the local Zoning Board of Appeals on Friday to build their Dark Knight roller coaster. Work had been stopped after it was discovered construction began without a building permit.
The project was put on hold because officials worried about a perceived lack of definite plans and safety. The building containing the roller coaster will be moved 10 feet to comply with fire codes as it was too close to another building. The park plans on applying for a building permit and resuming the work as soon as possible. For more information, see: The Republican. |
