News: Holiday World’s 16th Annual “Play Day”

By Alex Westerman

May. 9th, 2008 -- SANTA CLAUS, IN - More than $20,000 will be donated to the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center of Evansville this morning, during Holiday World’s 16th Annual “Play Day” for the Tri-State’s children with mental and physical disabilities.

“Today, we open the park for the invited guests of the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center,” says Holiday World President Will Koch. “This is a very special day for us and we look forward to hosting these wonderful children each year.”

Holiday World is donating the day’s admission proceeds to the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, to be used toward the purchase of specialized playground equipment for the Center. A portion of the donation will also be used to provide therapy for local children with disabilities. The admission price for “Play Day” is an $8.00 donation to the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center.

“At Holiday World, we strive to be a park where children and adults with physical and mental disabilities can feel comfortable and safe, and have a really fun time,” says Koch. “On Play Day, we open our gates to 2,500 very special Guests—and see some of the happiest smiles of the season.”

Holiday World annually publishes an Accessibility Guide, in cooperation with the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center, which describes the theme and water parks’ rides so that Guests with disabilities may decide ahead of time which rides are suitable for them. Accessibility Guides are available at Guest Relations, on the parks’ website: http://www.holidayworld.com/access.html

, or by calling the Holiday World office toll-free at 1-877-463-2645.
