News: Busch parks could be for sale

By Chip

Jun. 26th, 2008 -- Anheuser-Busch is expected to outline a restructuring plan that could put its theme parks for sale.

The brewer is expected to reject Belgian brewer InBev's buyout offer because it's too low. Anheuser-Busch's restructuring would include selling nonessential assets, of which the theme parks Busch Gardens Europe and Africa belong, according to The Wall Street Journal.

InBev may take its $46.3 billion offer to directly to shareholders, but it has not decided what course to take.

Anheuser Busch runs the Busch Entertainment Corp., which also includes SeaWorlds in Orlando, Fla., San Antonio and San Diego. It also runs three water parks and Discovery Cove and Sesame Place.
