News: Riders stuck as Carowinds loses powerBy Wes |
 Jun. 26th, 2008 -- Several people were stuck on rides at Carowinds after a power outage shut down nearly half the amusement park Wednesday night.
Duke Energy said a crew working at Carowinds accidentally hit an underground power line around 5 p.m.
According to the park, within 41 minutes everyone stuck on rides was evacuated. No one was hurt.
Park officials hoped to have the problem fixed by this morning.
