Apr. 1st, 2004 -- Warner Bros. Movie World will celebrate 520,000 donuts in cars, 1,200 tires, 1,100 kilometers of high falls, over 1,020,000 wheelies on motorbikes (that is 30,000 kilometers on the rear wheel) and over 800,000 rounds of gun ammunition when the park’s most popular show the Police Academy Stunt Show celebrates its 15,000th show on Wednesday 31 March, 2004! Breathtaking live stunts are performed every day in Warner Bros. Movie World’s Police Academy Stunt Show – based on the successful Police Academy movie series. The show is a non-stop, laugh a minute action expose featuring the zany incompetent Police Academy team at their very best, or worst - and the audience is part of the non-stop action! Since Warner Bros. Movie World opened in June 1991, millions of guests have enjoyed the internationally recognized show. Many of the talented Police Academy Stunt Show team have been in the show since its inception, whilst also performing as stuntmen and actors in numerous Hollywood blockbusters and local hit television and movies. Collectively, productions include: The Mask 2 (Current), Jeopardy 3 (Current), Stealth (Current), Scooby-Doo, Peter Pan, George of the Jungle 2, Inspector Gadget 2, Crocodile Dundee in LA, The Phantom, Kangaroo Jack, Rubicon, Lost World 1-2, Beast Master 2-3, Cyber Girl, Swimming Upstream, Ghost Ship, Mermaids, Under the Radar, First Strike, The Great Raid, The Wog Boy, Paradise Beach, Irresistible Force, Pitch Black, Code 11.14, Flipper 1-2-3, Acri, Departure, Les Patterson Saves The World, The Day of the Roses, The Real Macaw, Joey, Fortress, Country Practice, Neighbours, Jacki Chan's First Strike, Fire, Medivac, Hilderguard and Time Trax. All of the team thoroughly enjoy working in the Police Academy Stunt Show and say they couldn’t imagine not doing it every day! A “typical day in the office” for this group of workers includes being dragged up flagpoles, cars crashing and exploding around them, falling from high buildings, being caught with their pants down and witnessing a helicopter explode! All roles in the show are interchangeable with actors trained to perform a variety of roles. Stunt performers receive individualized special training. The set is based on the Police Academy movies with the Police Academy building an exact replica of the movie set. Explosions, fireballs and gunshots are all carefully orchestrated from the Police Academy Control Room. Stunt Coordinator, Vic Wilson designs and supervises the breathtaking stunts pivotal to the Police Academy Stunt Show. |
