Apr. 6th, 2004 -- Alexandria, VA - The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) will bring the best of the amusement and attractions industry to Asia for the IAAPA Asian Expo, July 13-16, 2004 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre. The IAAPA Asian Expo is the successor to the Asian Amusement Expo (AAE), the popular trade show that attracted thousands of attendees and exhibitors for twelve years. For the 2004 expo, IAAPA has retained the best features of the AAE and added exhibits and programs designed to enhance the experience. As Asia’s largest amusement and attraction-based show, the IAAPA Asian Expo will host more than 150 world-class exhibitors. Products and services displayed will include safety consultants, rides, games, play equipment, admissions systems, costumes, IMAX films, and water shows. The trade show will utilize 2,000 net square meters of exhibit space, and IAAPA officials expect 3,000 attendees will converge in Singapore for the event. “We look forward to expanding IAAPA’s presence in the Asian market and providing our Asian members with easy access to the world’s top amusement park and attraction suppliers,” said IAAPA President J. Clark Robinson. “IAAPA believes it is equally important for the industry to provide hands-on educational programs, and the IAAPA Asian Expo will offer new educational opportunities for our members in that region.” Among the educational and training programs that IAAPA will offer at the expo are the IAAPA Asian Attractions Management School and a Seminars Program for amusement and attraction industry CEOs. Program topics will include investment, cultural and global etiquette, and doing business in China. The expo will also give attendees the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Singapore Science Center, the Singapore Zoological Gardens, and the Escape Theme Park and Waterpark, three of the region’s most successful attractions. Asia is one of the amusement industry’s prime markets. As home to 4 of the 10 most visited amusement parks in the world, Asia attracts more than 65 million visitors annually to its largest parks. Previous Asian expos have included visitors from more than 40 different countries. IAAPA expos continue to provide the finest opportunities in the industry for buyers and sellers to meet and do business. At previous Asian shows, 83 percent of buyer attendees indicated that they have purchasing authority and 72 percent intend to make purchases at the show. “IAAPA is proud of its positive reputation for planning and executing some of the greatest trade shows in the world,” Robinson remarked. “We look forward to bringing that winning combination of smart show planning, great exhibits, timely educational content, and strategic promotion to Asia.” |
