News: Six Flags Great America employee dies

By Jill Anne

Jun. 17th, 2004 -- A 52-year-old employee of Six Flags Great America has died at a hospital in Milwaukee after accidents suffered May 29 at the Ragin' Cajun ride. He was a resident of Zion, Ill.

This news follows reports on the web by guests that witnessed the ride closure, ambulance, and stretcher. However, the accident was not confirmed until today. Most of these rumors had died down as no official news release was made.

Details are still sketchy from the original incident, but sources have indicated that the employee was in a restricted area of the ride where it reaches the ground. The employee was in the area without the proper lockout procedures.  The employee was struck in the upper torso region by the car as it traversed the course.

Though there are few details at the present, please see Channel3000.com for a brief story and possible updates.
