Three passengers were injured and sent to the hospital after two trains collided. The two trains collided in the loading area for the ride. There have been 2 other accidents involving the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in the past year. In April, two trains collided due to operator error, after just having reopened on March 10th after the death of Marcelo Torres on September 5th. The California Division of Occupational Safety and Heath Administration has said that it will keep the ride closed for at least the next two weeks to investigate and inspect the ride. Dean Fryer, a spokesman for Cal-OSHA would not elaborate on the specifics of the accident other than "two trains bumping into each other". The three patrons that were injured were a family from Canada and were complaining of back and neck pains. More information can be found from Reuters.
