Newkam, Chairman, President and CEO of Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company, announced the retirement of Todd K. Pagliarulo, as Vice President of the Sports & Entertainment Group, and Director of Corporate Safety and Security, effective February 2, 2005. Pagliarulo has been employed with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company for nearly 32 years, and has held several key management positions within the Company, including Managing Director of Support Services, Assistant General Manager for Hersheypark, Corporate Manager of Loss Prevention, and Corporate Director of Safety, Health & Security, before becoming the Vice President of the Sports & Entertainment Group in 2000. As Vice President of the Sports & Entertainment Group, Pagliarulo oversees the operation of Hersheypark Stadium and Star Pavilion, The Hershey Bears Hockey Club and directs the management of Giant Center. As the Company’s Director of Corporate Safety & Security, Pagliarulo coordinates the overall security function between the Company’s three main security departments, in addition to acting as liaison with outside security enforcement agencies. “Todd Pagliarulo has been an outstanding asset to this Company throughout his long tenure,” noted Newkam, “In the very dynamic and difficult world of sports and entertainment, Todd has always placed the needs of his family and those of the Company ahead of his own. He is an individual who truly cares about his employees, his community and the legacy of Milton Hershey. Todd’s in-depth knowledge of our organization, together with his expertise in local political matters, have proved invaluable over his many years with the Company. He is a tireless and dedicated worker whose contributions will be sorely missed.” Under Pagliarulo’s leadership, the Sports & Entertainment Group bested virtually all of the Group’s previously set performance records, including new attendance benchmarks for the Hershey Bears and the Summer Concert Series. Most notably, Pagliarulo was instrumental in the construction and successful launch of the Giant Center in October of 2002. Pagliarulo’s stewardship of the Giant Center has established that facility as one of the preeminent arena facilities of its size on the east coast. Appointed Director of Corporate Safety and Security in February of 2002, Pagliarulo was also instrumental in leading the safety and security initiatives for the Company in the post September 11th period. With Pagliarulo’s vast experience in the safety and security field, the Company was able to reaffirm to our guests our commitment to provide both a safe, as well as enjoyable, experience in Hershey, PA. Pagliarulo is active in a wide variety of industry and community organizations, including; certification by the American Society for Industrial Security as a Protection Professional, membership in the National Fire Protection Agency, American Society of Safety Engineers, American Society for Industrial Security, Hershey Rotary Club, and the Derry Township Republican Committee. Pagliarulo had also served as a Derry Township Supervisor for a number of years, until his retirement from the Board in 2001. A graduate of Hershey High School and Shippensburg State University, Pagliarulo and his wife Linda reside in Hershey and are the parents of Jennifer, Jaime, and Todd.
