Aug. 3rd, 2004 -- A ride on Geagua Lake's Double Loop roller coaster could have ended in disaster if an electronic eye hadn't noticed a problem. The coaster's safety bars are locked when the ride operators step on a pedal. However, the coaster's ride operators failed to lock the safety bars on the front car of a train where two people were sitting. Before the train could make it up the lift hill, an electric eye noted the problem and stopped the coaster.
