Two new contracts have already been voted down, and should the latest round of talks fail, the unions will ask members to give permission to call a strike. Such a move would not make a strike inevitable, and the earliest a strike could occur is early December, when the current contract, which forbids strikes, expires.

The unions and Disney are at odds over several issues, including minimum wage increase, how many hours part-time employees should work, and the cost of healthcare. Walt Disney World's last strike occurred in the early 1980s.
