Jan. 11th, 2004 -- Largo, MD -- Budding stars, accomplished actors, variety performers, talented technicians and agile stunt performers are invited to audition for seasonal entertainment employment at Maryland’s only theme park, Six Flags America. Auditions will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2004 beginning at 9 a.m. in the Crazy Horse Saloon at the theme park.Singers, dancers, actors, stunt people, jugglers, street performers, costumed characters and audio/light technicians are offered competitive pay rates, a showcase for their talent and an entire season of fun! Six Flags America is looking to fill positions in a variety of shows slated for the up-coming season. These shows tentatively include a hip-hop/top 40 singing and dancing show, a contemporary country singing and dancing show, a costume character/child-oriented musical review, and two Hollywood-style stunt shows. All candidates must be at least 16 years of age and are asked to arrive early, parking in the general public parking lots at the park. A park representative will meet all candidates at the front gate and escort them inside to the Crazy Horse Saloon. Auditions for singers and dancers will take place at 9 a.m. and stunt performer auditions will begin at 3 p.m. that same day. Singers should prepare two contrasting songs to display their talent and range. Applicants may bring sheet music, a cassette tape or CD and wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Dancers are to arrive ready to perform and will be asked to learn a short dance routine. PLEASE NOTE: Singers should be prepared to dance and dancers should be prepared to sing. Callbacks for both singers and dancers will take place that Saturday afternoon. Stunt performers must prepare a one-minute monologue and be ready for a movement audition. Advanced dirt-bike riders will be asked to demonstrate their skills. All candidates must bring their elbow pads, kneepads and helmets to the audition on Sunday. In addition to these exciting entertainment opportunities, Six Flags America’s Entertainment Department is also looking to fill several entertainment supervisor/manager positions for 2004.
