News: Disneyland to honor Fess ParkerBy Aaron |
Dec. 10th, 2004 -- Fess Parker, the actor who became a national idol for portraying Davy Crockett in the 1950s, will receive the ultimate honor that Disneyland can bestow upon an individual: a personalized window in the park's Main Street U.S.A. section. The window will be unveiled on Dec. 15, the 50th anniversary of Parker's debut as the famous frontiersman. Crockett's sidekick Georgie Russell will be honored in the window as well. The facade of the building featuring the personalized window will also be changed to commemorate the Crockett legacy. Parker was one of the featured guests when Disneyland opened in 1955.
