News: Knoebel's sells Whirlwind coasterBy Aaron |
Dec. 14th, 2004 -- Whirlwind at Knoebel's will soon have a new location. The roller coaster has been sold in order to help sick children.Whirlwind is now on its way to Parque De Diversiones, an amusement park in Costa Rica that donates all profits to a children's hospital. The roller coaster is currently being taken apart in preparation for shipment and could be fully dismantled by the end of the month. Meanwhile, there are two new rides heading to Knoebel's in 2005 to make up for the loss of Whirlwind. One will be a family style ride called Flying Tigers, which will let guests pilot their own miniature airplane. The other ride, called Sidewinder, will feature a giant rotating pendulum. See The News Item for more on Whirlwind's new location. Pictures of the new rides can be viewed at the park's Web site. |
