News: PKI becomes seasonal attendance champBy Aaron |
Dec. 17th, 2004 -- Paramount's Kings Island has overtaken Cedar Point this year when it comes to attendance numbers. PKI became the most visited park in Ohio, with 3.5 million visitors during this year's 130-day operating season. The ranking not only puts PKI at the top of Ohio's parks when it comes to attendance, but the amusement park is also the most visited seasonal park in America, and the 15th most visited out of all American parks. Cedar Point, meanwhile, fell to 17th with 3.2 million visitors over a 146-day operating season. Kings Island attributes the increase to a favorable weather and an expanded waterpark. Cedar Point blamed its lower admission numbers on a lack of new attractions and weather problems. See NBC4i for more. |
