Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has seen the arrival of their new Double Shot tower ride, the first major addition to the boardwalk since 1992. The $1.6 million ride should be ready to open with the beachside amusement park on March 19.
The Double Shot came under some scrutiny this past year before being green-lighted by the local government. Some residents and a local conservationist group argued the the 125-foot-tall tower would disrupt their view of the ocean and also harm birds who fly around the area. Park officials hope their new big thrill ride will be a big draw on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. For more information, see: The Santa Cruz Sentinal. |
