Finance: Vallejo pushes for SFMW sale

By Steven

Mar. 2nd, 2005 -- It appears that Six Flags is returning to the bargaining table to purchase Six Flags Marine World, only months after they said they would need at least another five years to negotiate such a deal.

The Vallejo city council held a closed session Tuesday to discuss the terms of such a sale. The planning commission is then expected to vote on updating the paperwork for a sale on March 7.

The city-owned park is currently managed by Six Flags, Inc., with an option to purchase the park.

The park's sale could fetch $52 million. While they currently share in the profit, it appears that the city will continue to get a cut of the ticket sales to the tune of $750,000.
