News: Alton Towers enacts noise-reductionBy Aaron |
Apr. 1st, 2005 -- Today, Alton Towers took its first steps to lower the amount of noise it produces. The park lowered the volume of its sound system, but an Alton Towers spokesman said the lower volume would not be noticeable to park guests. The noise reduction policy was initiated after a couple who lives 100 yards from the main entrance complained about the parks' noise, causing the park to be hit with a noise abatement notice. Major changes aimed at reducing the noise created by the rides themselves will not be enacted until the park appeals the decision in July. See Scotsman News for more. |
