News: Michigan's Adventure suit settledBy Aaron |
Apr. 20th, 2005 --
A man and his son who were injured when Michigan's Adventure's Chaos ride collapsed in July of 2001 have settled their lawsuit against the amusement park. James Burtchett and his son, who was 13 at the time of the accident, hung upside-down for five hours, suffering cuts and muscle injuries. They sued the park's operator, Cedar Fair, claiming that the company failed to maintain the ride or properly train employees. Cedar Fair placed blame with Chaos' maker, Chance Industries. The size of the settlement is unknown. If a settlement had not been reached, the case would have been before a jury on Tuesday. See the Detroit Free Press for more. |
