Songs you want to go away...

Is there a song out there that you hear all the time on the radio, or other places, and wish would just disappear from existence?

Here are some of my choices for songs the songs that I wish would just go away:

    1. "Believe" by Cher. Ugh. First time I heard this one, I thought it was a guy singing it, Like George Michael or someone like that. And they won't stop playing it on the pop stations.

    2. "All-Star" by Smash Mouth. Here's another song that's lived WAY beyond the average life span of a pop song. Let it die already.

    3. That "In The End, it doesn't even matter" song by Linkin Park. I used to work at a grocery store, and they'd play it all the time over the loudspeakers.

    4. "I Want it That Way" by the Backstreet Boys. Every time I hear this song, I just want to tear my hair out. When I think of reasons why I hate pop music today with a passion, this song always comes to mind.

I agree with you about that Cher song. I think The Onion even made fun of it a while ago.

I will add "Get This Party Started" by Pink. Most annoying recent song I can think of.

Anything after 1985, (and I'm only saying that for just 1 song), otherwise it could be anything after 1979

Practically any song you hear at a stadium or arena needs to go away.
Most notably "We Will Rock You" by Queen.

"Believe" is a good candidate, too. Cher sucks and she's not attractive or sexy either, like she would like you to "Believe."

The "Have You Forgotten" song that mentions (and harps on) Bin Laden. Please, is this something we want to forever memorialize in song? I'm not talking 9/11, because there are some very poignant songs to that effect, but to actually go on with the guy's name... Sheesh, it's annoying.

Second, "One More Day" by Diamond Rio. Lots of personal reasons with that one, but mainly, it's way too sappy in the juvenile "gushy" way.

YES. I HATE THAT SONG. OVERPLAYED.

    Two runners up:

"Who Let The Dogs Out" (who let that song out??) and "YMCA" (uh, 1994 called, it wants its retro fad song back).

    For me:

Backdoor Boyz - "I want it that way" - Please will you go away!!!!!!!! (Tell me why?!?!?!?!?)

Edwin McCain - "I'll Be" - Sweeping floors at Kentucky Fried Chicken

The Hootster & His Blowfish - "Only Wanna Be With You" - Rosie O'Donnel to Sarah Lee

Lee Greenwood - "God Bless the USA" & any syrupy modern patroitic song about 9/11 or any other event.

Cher - "Believe" - Rule #5: Don't use a Vocoder to improve your voice.

Kenny G - "Songbird" (that annoying new age sax song they always play on the radio) - He specialises in "Fuzak" (Fusion + Muzak)

Bette Midler - "The Wind Beneath My Wings" - More like breaking wind beneath your cheeks

    And the beat goes on...

(For those of you who think Cher's Believe is her worst, go onto kazaa or bearshare (gnutella network) and look for "Half Breed" and/or "Gypsies Tramps and Thieves" God help us all!)

    Anything by...
    Eminem
    50 Cent
    Any other rapper
The Backstreet Boys (or any soloists who were in the group)
    Justin Timberlake
    Britney Spears
    Good Charlotte

Any song supposed to inspire patriotic fevor (G-d Bless the USA), as Smoky pointed out

    These following songs
    Sk8er Boi
    Who Let the Dogs Out?
    YMCA
And any song that is guarenteed to make my parents start dancing during social events, much to the embarrassment of me and my sisters.

And of course, any chant by ignorant coaster enthusiasts calling for the destruction of TOGO coasters.

We play the Imperial March, but we're super cool, because we play wicked songs like Tequila, Gimmie some Lovin' etc.

THE IMPERIAL MARCH MUST BE RETIRED.

Tequila is pretty bad too, but that's because the real song sucks.

Gimme Some Lovin is pretty good.

Yeah, some of them I don't approve of, just because the song is kinda lame. But other songs like Iron Man, These Shorties we play, and the James Bond theme, are all pretty fun. I don't look at them at cool or not, they are just a total blast to play.

If it's actually a song, the "Tomahawk Chop" needs to be buried deep.
