Last movie you saw?

The Collector. One of the best horror movies/thrillers I've seen in a while. Two so far this summer have been awesome, this one and Drag Me To Hell. Keep it up Hollywood! PLEASE stop renewing the Saw franchise. It's getting stale.

^ Didn't the writers from Saw 4,5,6 or something like that write Collector? I saw the poster yesterday I think and was like "There are 6 Saws?"

With Hollywood, when you get a successful horror movie, you just run it into the ground and milk it for all its worth.

I'm not a horror fan at all, but I've never understood the appeal of Final Destination and watching people being killed in gruesome ways for 2 hours.

Well, of course. Don't you know anything that's Japanese automatically becomes cooler simply due to the fact it's Japanese. It's almost as cool as saying Japanese stuff is better than America's. That makes you and I the coolest!

Ok, time to get back to watching Japanimation and hanging up Dragonball Z wall scrolls.

I just got done watching Sunshine Cleaning. I thought it was a well thought out movie and I totally understood where the main character (played by Amy Adams) was coming from with her life.

I really enjoyed the movie and some may or may not like it, but it was very well written.

I just rented Adventureland from Redbox. The main character I can relate to, having a different point of view and seeing things are not exactly as you hoped. I liked the music. Also I can attest that at the Musik Express I found a very awesome curly haired girl just like in the movie. Actually she found me at SFGADV, pretty much like she set a date from the ride. Phantom's Revenge had minimal exposure with maybe only two shots. Was that Wipeout Kennywood's?

I loved Adventureland, and it's funny that the experience they portray of working at a park is pretty much 100% accurate. Which I can attest to nowadays.

I thought I'd be more weirded out by the Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig characters but they were more level. The guy with the glasses was pretty cool. Em's looked bothered a whole lot.

Heck I even made a thread for Adventureland in this forum.

Paranormal Activity: 2/5 I seriously do not know why this was the number one movie in America last week. It has to be the worst horror movie I have ever seen. The last 15 minutes were the only intense parts, but if you've seen the previews for it, then you have seen the best parts. I swear I almost fell asleep during this movie, and I haven't done that at a theather since I watched Star Wars.

Michael Jackson's This Is It

I'm a fan, what can I say. It was a nice behind the scenes look at the singer's final days and he seemed strong and not on the brink of disaster at all. His voice was very strong and he was still dancing like he always could.

Not a perfect documentary by far, but still worth seeing at least on DVD if you liked his music.

It Didn't Drag too Long, There wasn't any Unneeded Profanity or Nudity or Fart Jokes, Unlike (Year One; Observe and Report; Zach and Miri Make A Porno; Disaster Movie; Step Brothers; Pineapple Express; Harold and Kumar; Planet Terror; Death Proof; Norbit, Superbad, Etc.)

Plot: He has a Bad Childhood and Kills People... and I just told you the Whole Movie. No I didn't "Ruin the Plot" because There is no Plot to Ruin. You Can tell from the First 15 Minutes what's going to Happen. I've Seen "Adult Entertainment" with More Interesting Plots and Better Developed Characters.

Confessions of a Shopaholic. Very cute movie. Really enjoyed it. 4/5.

The Other Boelyn Girl. Very good period piece. Scarlett and Natalie were amazing in the movie. The be-headings were an ewwwww moment. Eric Bana played a good Henry the 8th. 4.5/5.

I love Die Hard 1 and 2 but never, ever saw Die Hard with a Vengeance until this past weekend. I was surprised to see that the movie was out for 15 years now! Samuel L. Jackson cracked me up in that movie. It's a shame Bruce Willis couldn't get the complete victory. He's a NJ guy and I believe my father pointed out that he and Willis are the same age.

I picked up Waiting... and Inglorious Basterds.

Waiting was your typical gross-em-out comedy.

Inglorious Basterds was pretty darn good, didn't even notice that it was 2 hours 33 minutes.

I've now seen Avatar twice in Digital 3D.

James Cameron has again proved to the world why he is one of the best directors out there. The visuals are amazing, the Na'vi look awesome, and the story is really good too. Probably one of the best movies of 09 and 10.

I cant wait to pick it up on Blu Ray.

Saw Avatar over the weekend.

Unfortunately for me, I can't see 3-D (I know, I'm weird).

But even in 2D I really enjoyed it. Sexiest alien ever.

My real complaint is that I knew the plot of the movie about 30 minutes in, in the sense that I knew exactly how it would end. Not saying it wasn't a fun and visually amazing movie, but I wish there were a few surprises in the movie.

For pushing the boundaries of movies, my ratings is "pushed" up a little.

Just saw Valentine's Day. I had a free ticket. I guess that's my first film of this year in the theater. I was looking forward to the Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway trio. I like the twists right when we thought we had it figured out.

Just got back from Hot Tub Time Machine
The movie is like Back to the Future meets The Hangover. There's not as many laughs as The Hangover, but the movie still is pretty funny and had me laughing quite a bit. I would recommend it if you want to see a good comedy on a night out.

I got a chance last weekend to see The Bounty Hunter.

It was funny, cute and unexpected. I thought it was good. I will probably buy it when it comes out on DVD. Gerard Butler really has perfected playing a douche bag.

I've watched 3 movies this week. One at the theater and two on DVD. So lets get started:

Bounty Hunter-It was actually pretty funny. It had its moments, but it was a good movie. Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston both are great in the movie. They couldn't have picked two better people to play in this type of movie.

Sorority Row-It was a pretty cool movie throughout, but it got dull at some parts. I didn't like the end, but other than that it was a solid movie. Not too scary though, IMO.

Jennifer's Body-This movie didn't make a whole lot of sense to me at first, but they did a really good job of connecting it all at the end. Megan Fox was definitely the perfect person to play "Jennifer." Hot and seductive goes great for a demon, haha. Overall, I actually liked this movie more than I thought I would at the start. I'd say its in my top 10 horror movies now.

How To Train Your Dragon 3D
This movie was really good. The setting was really detailed and amazing and the voice cast was awesome. I'm a big fan of Jay Baruchel, and it's great to see him in so many movies right now. The main dragon really reminded me of my cat though, it was just a big suck.

4/5 It needs more cultural interactions to be a fantastic 4.5 - 5 movie, (along with more creative aliens) but other than that, I have never seen any movie or TV show that has ever handled time travel as well as this movie has.

I finally saw Avatar tonight. Meh. It's an overhyped, mediocre SciFi/action movie that was as predictable as a calendar. Was it enjoyable? Yeah, I guess so. Was it one of the greatest movies of all time? Not even close. The Special effects were good, but I wasn't really impressed with the rendering of the Na'vi. The environment was spectacular, but the Na'vi still seemed out of place. I'll always prefer costumes and make-up to CG characters. And I swear some of the dialogue was written by a 12 year old. I also noticed some holes in the story...

Possible *SPOILERS*

-Why would a corporation with hired guns be the first and only humans to be traveling to Pandora? Where's the government? Are you telling me that if we find (and are able to travel to) a lush planet with highly intelligent beings, that we wouldn't first and foremost set up some type of governing body to prevent precisely what happened in this movie?

-How did the Na'vi know exactly what to do with transfering the human mind/spirit into the avatar body? Have they done this before? How, why, and when?

Watched Extraordinary Measures yesterday. Thought it was a great story, need to read the book to see how true to the story they stayed. Great acting on both Harrison Ford and Brendan Frasier.

Toy Story 3 in 3D

Excellent movie. It should appeal to adults and children alike. Highly recommended. Just be wary of the high emotional level Pixar has been putting into their films lately.

We have been watching a bunch of movies as of late, thanks to Redbox!

Valentine's Day: Funny movie. Was expecting more mushiness, but it was funny. Get rid of Taylor Swift. She needed smacked upside the head. 4/5.

Shutter Island: Weird movie. Interesting story. Ending was unpredictable. 3/5.

From Paris with Love: Different movie. Some shocking scenes. Very funny one liners from John Travolta. Nice seeing him in a good role for a change. 4/5.

The Tooth Fairy: Dumb. Not even funny. End of story. The Rock really needs to get back into action flicks and not this family friendly crap. 1/5.

Dear John: Great film. Reading the book as we speak. Very different for sure as most Nicholas Sparks books are. Movie ending was very different from what I wanted to see. Still amazing movie. 4.5/5.

The Blind Side: Fantastic movie. Sandra Bullock really pulled off the Momma role and nailed it! Great story and some of the lines in it are priceless. 5/5.

Extraordinary Measures: All dad's should watch this movie. Hell, all males in general should. It really shows what a man will do for his family. Harrison Ford and Brendan Frasier were a good pair in the movie. 4/5.

The Box: Dumbest movie ever. Don't waste your money on it. -1/5.

The Time Traveler's Wife: Good movie. Kind of hard to follow at first. But, it does pick up. The ending is beyond strange but sweet. Good for a cuddle flick 3.5/5
