Trip to Dorney

I'm going to Dorney Park sometime next week, and I was wondering if you guys could give me a few suggestions. I've heard that Talon is awesome, Steel Force and Laser are very good, Thunderhawk is pretty good, and I've heard bad things about Hercules. How is Hercules compared to Mean Streak? (I liked Mean Streak, so if it's similar I'll probably give it a try.) How is Dominator? Are there any other rides I should be sure not to miss?

<BR>Also, what is the best day to go? I could probably go any day of the week, so I just care about lines. I know that Dorney is well known for having pretty short lines, but I want to know which day is the best.

<BR>Are there any places that have really good food? I'm pretty sure we'll stay for the whole day, so if there's any good eating places, please tell me.

I was just there two days ago, so here are some tips:
<BR>
<BR><ul>
<BR><li>Do not go on Talon in the morning unless you are there at opening <i>minute</i>. Everyone does that! Instead, make your way towards Laser.</li>
<BR><li>After you've had you're fix of Laser, go to Steel Force.</li>
<BR><li>You can ride almost a dozen times before the people from early Talon rides get to the Steel Force side of the park. Ride Steel Force as much as you can, IMO, its the best ride in the park (don't worry, Talon's a close second <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> )</li>
<BR><li>Head over to Dominator and ride that till youre board of falling from 200 feet in the air <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif"></li>
<BR><li>Do Thunderhawk... there's never many people in line for it all day, but they have a habit of only operating one train on that, so it moves slowly.</li>
<BR><li>Ride Hercules until youre butt goes numb (which won't be too long <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif"> )</li>
<BR><li> Relax a little... do a few of they're great flat rides... eat... go potty... whatever you're heart desires.... until its around 3 o clock.</li>
<BR><li>At 3 head over to Talon... in the morning I waited 45 minutes for this masterpiece, but at 3 o clock I waited a mere 3 minutes. </li>
<BR><li>Ride Talon until the park closes, you have to go, your hungry, etc., etc. Enjoy the short line!!!</li>

my experience was the same as rollercoasterer's.

<BR>really, head back to lazer and steel force first for a few shots each. then hit thunderhawk and have lunch. after lunch and around 2 head over to talon and hit it a bunch of times. i strongly reccomend you wait for the front the first time, its so much better there (even though it rocks everywhere). ride talon a bunch of times. then just hit whatever you want. also, skip hercules, it sucks

<BR>Now I was wondering something...is it packed on Saturdays? I know that Dorney is known for short lines, but does that go for each day? I am able to go either Thursday, Friday, or Saturday this week. Saturday would be the easiest, but if the lines are kinda bad, we could rearrange our schedule. I went on a Thursday a few weeks ago, and there was NO ONE there! All of the rides were walk ons! The maximum wait for Talon was 5 minutes for front row! Al other rows were walk on's! Best place in the park to eat is the Red Garter Saloon that is between Talon and Hercules. Very good food! Probably the best in any amusement park outside of Florida. I suggest you try the Nachos Supreme! Their burgers are also excellent! Try to get there on Thursday....nobody was there when I went and I never had to wait!
