Silver Dollar City has been high on my list of parks to get to. It's great to see they are continuing to improve the park.
Thanks for sharing that link, DHollon. Looking at the footers made me think wooden coaster. Since it's rumored to be RMC, you never know if it's going to be a woodie or hybrid, but I'm leaning towards a woodie.

I agree with Rick. It looks like a woodie to me. The footer cluster does not look like the turnaround like WE because the turnaround has one huge central footer with a bunch around it. It was said that the central footer for those turn was big enough to fit a VW in it. I know Dollywood has Thunderhead which is one of the best GCI coasters out there. So I would suspect a GCI.

This is apparently a Rocky Mountain Coaster wooden ride. They have been quoted talking about being in works with Silver Dollar City AND Six Flags Fiesta Texas. Due to the footer work, we can properly deduce that their first built Roller Coaster is going in here, with Rattler getting the topper or Iron Horse treatment.

I saw in the pics the flat plot of land. I thought with Renegade and Evel Knievel a generally flat pad of concrete is poured around the wooden coaster footers. Rocky Mountain Coasters did throw in those few full on steel supports on the Texas Giant for those super overbanked new turns.
With Joe mentioning Rocky Mountain I heard their name first after DHollon gave clues a few months ago about this SDC project. I threw in the Wild Eagle hint to get some viewers from our Wild Eagle construction thread. If the people care about Dollywood I would hope they would care about Dolly's sister park. SDC already has Wildfire anyway.

Perhaps DHollon will get new pics this weekend. I sense the ride is taller now. I believe a big new bent is up. I haven't seen updates on modern social media.

A coaster by Rocky Mountain Coasters; this has to be discussed.

Isn't there room in the Midwest for only one Outlaw? There is the Outlaw at Adventureland in Iowa. It's the first CCI coaster I thought. I still need to get that. Now Silver Dollar City is going to dish out The Outlaw?

Lift hill has been topped. They've also bridged the railroad with the track coming out of the station. They are starting work now on the drop.
No word, official or otherwise, has been given to most of the employees as of yet, and not sure if anything has been said to anyone outside of the higher ups, so anything on dates is just rumor and speculation- even about past dates.
i can say that it's pretty obviously the tallest thing in the park at this point. Lots of rumors about drops and turns, but anyone who really knows isn't saying anything publicly yet.

^nope. Nothing more than sdcfans.com but they don't know anymore than what I've posted... I do know more thanks to an insider but don't feel comfortable sharing the info yet as I don't want him in trouble. Hope to have photos sometime this weekend online. I'm going to the park on Friday.

^ There's a few bits and pieces that have come from some of those working on the ride, but none of it official, and honestly no way to know how accurate any of it is. The park is saying absolutely nothing to anyone- in or out of the park- at the moment.
Framing and walls are going up on the station now, and they've started the turn at the top of the lift, as they turn it towards it's possible first drop down into the valley.

A group of Hershey employees, regional enthusiasts with sites were pretty good on facebook on a group page. I think that group was watched over/commissioned by Hersheypark. They somehow sucked me into that group, perhaps by what I posted here on Skyrush and falling within one of their regional target markets.
That surely looks like a completed lift hill.

The current rumor going around is that this will have an 81 degree drop at 160 feet. Could this be a possibility? After seeing a couple of those pictures....yes, I see that happening QUITE easily as wasn't NTG amped up to over 70?

I got a kick out of your post Leo on FB about that person already proclaiming this ride to be better than El Toro. Talk about premature opinions (which are quite irrelevent too). El Toro is no slouch and this coaster will have to perform VERY well if it thinks it will top El Toro in any category of being the best. Not saying it isn't possible, but you are talking about the number one wooden coaster in the world. Not an easy feat to topple it. Just glad to see SDC getting a new ride. This place is on my to do list within the next 5 years. I was soooo close to SDC 3 years ago but wasn't able to go since they were closed the day I was in the area.

Rocky Mountain Coasters was primarily the building contractor of El Toro, T-Express, the Chicago Deja Vu relocation. They got to look at the blueprints. With the Texas Giant they had at least half the structure up to work with. This is an entire project from the ground up from them so I am watching this cautiously.
