If only we had something to WORK ON outside of some front shots ><

That's the thing with RMC, they have a lot of talk currently (with some show), but until this ride is built, opened and running, we can't make any form of guarentee on what this ride will or will not do. So far, we have a possible height, possible drop degree and a proper guess that this is a terrain woodie that is going to most likely on par with Boulder Dash.

Glad to see a track piece photo. Being around El Toro quite a bit I can see some of the resemblance with the track.

    More Silver Dollar pictures.
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/witt_family_5/
There is a dip from the station of the new track to the lift. There are pics of the lift motor.

MAYDAY, MAYDAY. Remember the New Texas Giant. There is a spotting of metal beams suspended at 120 degrees at the apex of a series of bents. Extreme overbank sighting.

I've never been to the park but I see being on the train ride is key to passing the site.

Thanks to Screamscape for the new links

From the pictures and my horrendously rusty german, the site seems to think that the drop will be a record breaker, as in beyond 81° (which kics out T-Express from steepest drop on a wooden coaster), this overbank/possible inversion is directly after the drop, and based on a picture of the track that I believe is to be apart of that, we may honestly be looking at a zero-g roll.

If you dont believe me, picture a B&M Zero-G and overlay it ontop of that. It is conforming to the riders hearline, not the track as most overbanks have a continuous line of motion, not an odd form of break to circle around the riders center.

The only clue we have is just the ground in front of it. The path of the footers appear to be straight ahead. Where the next steel lies will give us the answer we desire.

Someone mentioned over on CoasterForce that the banking of the beams is FAR too quick for just an Over-banked Turn. As I said before, the way the steel seems to be placed, it looks like it is dipping a bit to go around the riders center, which would indicate a type of Zero-G roll.

    Edit:

THIS! This could show that we are honestly looking at a Zero-G Roll on a wooden coaster! The footers would be following the bank, but they aren't in ANY manner.

    OH SWEET BABY JESUS! XD

That was my observation when I saw the pictures... the footers seem to go generally straight for this to be an overbanked turn. I'm thinkin Zero G! I cant wait to see the train design..

If that bulk of the structure suddenly switches to the other side we got it. I sure hope it's a comfortable inversion. Well it should have lap bars right?

It looks that way. That would be very awesome!

Based on the groundbreaking Wild Eagle at Dollywood and now this, it makes me think Herschend is trying to make a name for themselves. I am now suspicious that they are one of the two national amusement park operators who contacted the Kentucky Fair board. They don't seem to have a problem effectively running parks at locations owned by government entities with Stone Mountain Park being one of their properties.

Could this campaign now that it's taken hold take the same route as Dollywood's path for Wild Eagle coverage? I thought it was interesting with some puzzles and then it all crash landed when they announced the ride and lacked some details about Wild Eagle's layout.

I think the CEO Malby being on Undercover Boss helped the company image. I now recognized him in pictures at Wild Adventures. A lil mini celebrity thing is going.

I read online DHollon clued that this in fact will be an inversion. He will have his update soon.

People...we are effectively seeing a TRUE evolution of wooden coasters.

If this happens and is successful, we may very well be seeing a ride that will offer an experience that shouldnt be felt on a wooden coaster. Rocky Mountain Coasters will have a LOT to offer amusement parks looking for something vastly different than a standard Wooden ride.

Could this ride be the start of a wooden coaster designing war between RMC,the innovative GG and the ever so slowly manufacturer playing catch-up GCI?

HECK, could we see Intamin trying to outdo them in some horrendous feat of insanity?!

Who knows, but I may bery well be camping out at this park opening day next year.

From what I've been seeing and experiencing in my continued travels, RMC and Intamin are far ahead of GG and GCI on woodies. It appears at least that RMC is quickly becoming a top player by trying to reinvent the woodie.

Outside of degree of drop, Intamin hasn't really done much to be considered a contender for Top Wooden Manufacturer. If anything, Intamin has effectively dropped out and may never make another.

Gravity Group on the other hand has made FAR greater strides for wooden coasters than Intamin ever will. Twister at Grona Lünd, Wooden Warrior at Quassy, Dauling Dragons in that chinese park and Voyage/Ravine Flyer II all have something to showcase that wasnt thought possible.

What? Pain? GG woodies are terrible. They age horribly, and tear their trains apart.

We'll get back on track to what this thread is supposed to be about here shortly. I'm uploading new construction photos of SDC2013 right now.

^That's what I was referring to, DHollon but I won't get off topic further. We should spin that topic up as a separate thread. I look forward to seeing the pictures.

I wonder if we'll see any steel supports from the ground up for this supposed inversion. I realized New Texas Giant was a different story since they used over half of the ride already existent standing. A lot of those hills just had their tops modified for the overbanked turns.

Wow! Track is already up to that overbank hill.

The park train comes really close to the lift motor and the bottom of the lift.
How many times did you ride the train for this update?

At least one of the other two conduits through the lift hill should be for a maintenance road.

@Leo - I rode the train once to get the update. I got a row to myself so I could shift back and forth at my leasure.

I too was thinking one of those conduits has to be for maintenance access. The one closest to the drop must be that.

I read another person's comment elsewhere about the fast pace of construction here. I looked up SDC's operating schedule and noticed it goes into November and December. I wonder when this ride could open. 2013 automobiles come out in this September. hehe Didn't Silver Bullet open in December 2004?

Ride will be complete before end of season, but will not open to the general public until March 2013.

There will be plenty of time to test and make sure all the new whistles work on the ride. Hopefully no Intamin element revisions before opening.

A picture of the extreme overbank is up. This should be considered an inversion due to going almost 180° for this.

I won't lie, this looks ****ing insane!
