The roll should be completed if it went that far.

They didn't just want a roll though. A 153 is something completely different and not seen before. It is an inversion as far over as it goes... like I said, it is not much different than an Immelmann with regards to an inversion (as in on an Immelmann one side of the train barely inverts)

It really depends on the make & model of coaster for the Immelman. I'm assuming you're speaking of Dive Machines (with the wider trains causing the question of inversion or not). However, I slowed down a video of SkeiKra and the train does make it to completely inverted before turning....the only issue is, one side of the train is upside down longer than the other. So an Immelman isn't the best to argue with here.

However, you can argue with this element for sure-http://www.rcdb.com/2528.htm?p=12478 . Yep, this one is classified as an inversion. If this is, then Outlaw should be too....heck, maybe even Millennium Force haha.

I originally said this wouldn't be an inversion, but I also said I'd go with whatever the park & manufacturer said it would be. If they count it as an inversion, then it's an inversion. I was going along the lines of "If they wanted an inversion, they would've made an inversion" but maybe after a few weeks of saying it wasn't an inversion, they figured the bank was so extreme that they should name it that. I'm alright with it, shouldn't be debated anymore though as the dive loop above points out that if that's classified as an inversion, then this could be classified as one.

I am interested in seeing the actual double up and double down take shape. Those elements are candy for wooden coaster traditionalists.

I personally am dieing to see pictures of the trains. The website says something about two people per car, but I'm curious if we'll see the first in house trains from RMC

I do recall they were investing for in house train production in that article that said they had this and the SFFT projects.

24 passengers per train. 2 riders per car. 12 cars total. Think NextGen MFlyers and you got a pretty good idea what they'll look like.

Pretty good pics of the banked turns Duane has.

The first drop looks pretty cool. http://rcdb.com/10582.htm?p=40618

SDC knew it had the elements where they could keep quiet like they previously had months ago. The debut of the elements was a big splash.

All of a sudden I am moving Silver Dollar City from my list of "parks I might visit in 2013" to my list of "parks I will visit in 2013". These pictures are amazing.
My hardest earned credit is The Legend at Holiday World, first ridden 5.19.2012, exactly 1399 days after my first visit to Holiday World.

http://www.thrillnetwork.com/showthread.php?t=92027 (There is a Steel Rattler video in the other thread)
The RMC Steel Rattler will do a barrel roll at a higher approach! Generally after the first turn around Rattler will rise up into the barrel roll which will exit up onto the quarry ledge where the boring helix used to reside.

Luckily, the world has basically come to accept that these coasters (Texas Giant and Iron Rattler) are steel coasters, or they call them hybrids, so Outlaw Run is still considered to be the only wooden coaster in the world with inversions. And Iron Rattler gets to claim to be the only hybrid coaster to have an inversion. Everybody wins.

    3 inversions > 1 inversion

Of course. In that sense, Outlaw Run is the clear winner as far as that goes, there's no doubt, but I'm just saying they can both claim to be a world's only. OR will still be the only wooden coaster with an inversion, and IR will be the only hybrid coaster with an inversion.

I'd rather take an inversion in the heat of the layout than potentially on fumes at the end of the layout.

The structure is complete. I still find the view of the lift hill odd with the steel track and the steps.

The park posted in its blog the last track piece had been installed.

It's October and the whole ride build is done! When could they tinker around with a test after controls are fully installed?

The trains look nice, the lap bar has a handle so the ride op doesn't have to staple you to make sure the lap bar is locked. I'm wondering if it will be a single lap bar, or two with a seat divider? The single doesn't make sense with an inversion, so I hope the cars are wide enough for bigger people to sit in with a seat divider.

It's a trick or treat gift from SDC. Is the tree cover going to be like that in 20 years?

Since the construction is all done the new coaster is just sitting pretty for snow covered pictures recently. We're waiting for when they can get the ride to test!

Finally testing started on Outlaw Run. The park posted this video to Youtube:

I don't like cut up POVs though. This is still better than the animated POV they fed us I believe twice. I prefer a video the park posted on facebook of several off ride shots. I prefer that video much more.
