Nice. I'm excited to find out what it is and just before my trip there and so I'll be able to see whatever they have on display in person. Would've been kinda cool if I could've been there for the announcement since I've never attended one before.
With all those 3's, maybe it's Intimidator 3. lol

It's a shame Intamin don't make bobsleigh coasters anymore, hence why Disaster Transport is going to be taken down as it was at the end of it's service life.
Will the building be also taken down, or left intact for another indoor attraction?
I'm nearly positve the building will be removed. Whether or not Disaster Transport is at the end of it's service life is irrelevant and also debateable. The coaster and the building it's inside would be in the way of the new ride. That's why Space Spiral is also being removed. If the rumors are true that this new coaster will have a drop of 170 feet or more as well as being the longest of it's kind, you're looking at a very big sized coaster. I'd expect this new ride to be at least 4,000 feet of track if not closer to 4,500. They're going to need the space and the Disaster Transport building would be in the way.

Proof that this will be a ride announcement:

Edit: Ok, this whole Lotan name thing has been severely bothering me. Just cause they used Behemoth and Leviathan at Canada's Wonderland, won't mean they would go with that tradition in another park elsewhere. If anything, Lotan would be a new ride up at Canada's Wonderland as you already HAVE the other two there. Plus the whole green track ordeal, we don't really know where the other green track went, or if it was apart of a clone operation out in China for a few of the Happy Valley or where ever the Green Track showed up at. The numbers were similar, so they could have belonged to the same coaster to begin with (plus the overseas shipping crate kinda settled it for me RIGHT THERE NEXT TO THEM ALL)! Seriously, ONE site has spouted this nonsense and it has literally overtaken EVERYTHING!

The blades remind me of a certain Sega hedgehog: Sonic :P Knuckles was the red one right? I forgot what yielded the yellow one.
It could be a breaking wave: Surfhawk
But really I like the moth clue. It has wide wings. Maybe the train will be yellow, the track green.

I just thought of this.....
No matter what they call it, if the ride is terrible after it's constructed, they can return to the Disaster Transport name. Hey, they already have it registered!
While I'd agree with you, Lotan wouldn't make sense up at Canada's Wonderland (as in many cases, Lotan and Leviathan are the same thing). Ziz would make a lot of sense if it were to open at Wonderland though (as Behemoth, Leviathan & Ziz were the three main monsters in the myth. Behemoth was the land monster, Leviathan was the sea monster and Ziz was the air monster).
All that was being said is that Lotan makes sense because it is the same as Leviathan and Leviathan/Lotan was the Gatekeeper of hell. With the Gatekeeper rumor going around, it fits. In addition, Lotan brought about floods (the ride will sit next to Lake Erie). There are a whole bunch of tie ins.
LochnessHawk.
I wonder what is the water table on this pennisula. SFDK has some slight depressions in the parking dug out for their Medusa. I wonder what Cedar Fair can shave and how deep can they dig in the parking lot to fit this ride in.

Lotan: The Conquerer!
Never heard of that myth, but I hope it's not that name. It doesn't have the same ring of Raptor or Mantis.

Ragnarok would be a better fit, as it is all about the destruction and rebirth of a grand nation :3
The removal of Wildcat and Disaster Transport would be the destruction of its title and rank among parks around the world. With this addition it would be their rebirth of heading back into infamyPlus the name is just plain ole *****'n and would do far more to impose fear on guests than Ziz or Lotan.

A blue graphic with a blue blade look (Sonic the Hedgehog?) has appeared in an ad teasing about the announcement.

This is playing on two very different notes. The Banners at the park show a BIT more than what is posted here, and it looks to be a flying creature of sorts. With this LAST image it gets rid of Ziz, but still leaves open Phoenix and Ragnarok...as both of those refer to a rebirth of sorts.
Looking at other pictures of the banners, I can say that it is not a dragons wing, but rather a feathered wing. Phoenix is the only option I have as it always symbolizes a rebirth of something. Considering Cedar Point has lost its title, the odd little comment about having a few new competitors in next years Insane Coaster Wars (if it happens), and that they are supposedly building this ontop of where Disaster Transport and Space Spiral both once stood, I can see the symbolic meaning they could be implying.
With the addition of this coaster, they are rising from the ashes, reborn.

Annie Zelm, Spokeswoman for Cedar Point stated at the Last Ride Ceremony for DT that "We started off the year with 17 and now we're down to 15, we don't like being behind".
Becca from OnPoint was directly referencing 2013's coaster when saying that she hopes that there is another season next year...she believes it will be a coaster worthy of it.
Slogans popping up around the park now (in addition to the "How Do You Recover From a Disaster")
-"What Can Outrun an Avalanche"
-"Not Even a Jumbo Jet Soars Like This"
Each reference rides that previously sat on that plot of land..I'm waiting on Cyclone, WildCat & Switchback Railway still.
August 9th UPDATE:
A webpage went up under www.cedarpoint.com/gatekeeper that said "Something BIG is gonna happen". The page has since been taken down.
In addition, two new banners went up. One reads "WildCat is no match for this creature" and the other "What's Taller than Mantis and Makes You Scream Like a Banshee?"
Well, that guarantees it will be at least 146 feet tall. That's the first thing we can say we know for absolute certain now.

The Gatekeeper page went live again today and sadly, it was a full leak. It has since been taken down. As with the SDC coaster, could it not be posted here please. Out of respect for the park who is waiting until Monday (as well as other fans who may be waiting).
Thankfully, only one stat was leaked.

I know some of you have seen the leak as I have. Please do NOT post any images on our site until the announcement goes live at 3:30pm on Monday. We and Cedar Point would really appreciate it. I know it got leaked, but we try to keep our relationship with parks by respecting their wishes to not post things until they say so.
