Mark that is too funny!! I've seen the pics as well and it's very interesting. I'm excited for 3:30!
I noticed that there haven't been any posts since the leak. Is that because people are waiting or have there been numerous posts spreading the word and the details of the leak and they had to be deleted obviously? I couldn't help myself and did some searching and found some pics online and what details there were. What can I say, I had to know. Anyway, I'm still looking forward to the announcement and the full breakdown and any videos and pictures they have as well as seeing if that is in fact a real leak. Wouldn't it be something if it was a fake leak and that isn't really what is coming. I doubt that but it would be original and quite funny.
Without giving away any info, I gotta say I'm impressed with what I've seen so far. This new ride looks great. Can't wait for the real announcement and even more for next year to ride. But I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, I have a visit there in a few days. It will be my first time there in two years and my first time going for more than one day since 2007. I'm so excited!
I know you said not to post any pictures but I thought I'd add one. Here it goes-

There have been a lot of sites that have acknowledged the leak, but never divulged anything about it (and that makes me happy, definitely identifies the classy sites. Congrats)
Hahaha, nice with the Ghostbusters reference. Two sites out there already (Coaster-Net & the other site we don't talk about on here) have been making those references since before the leak. I only imagine they'll pick up more now (I'm guilty of it, I've already posted Keymaster & Gatekeeper videos. Rick Moranis & Sigourney Weaver should be on tap for opening day. Rick Moranis should give the safety spiel too)
It's too bad that you guys and gals in the east have to wait until 3:30 for the announcement. Here in Chicago and much of the midwest, we only have to wait until 2:30.
-Sincerely, guy who doesn't understand how timezones work.

I didn't know anything had leaked until I read through this thread. Excitement got the best of me and I looked it up. I only saw the picture but man did it fulfil my anticipation.
I'll plan on being there the day it opens. I did for diamond back and was on the third train once it opened to the public. I hope the same happens next year and this ride. I had a ton of fun at diamondbacks
I've driven to the Point the last decade the year an attraction came out but I don't see myself doing that next year. If I have a return trip to Chicago in the next few years I'll do it. I'm more likely to go to Canada first to get the B&M Giga as I''ve never been to Canada's Wonderland. The Midwest (MN,IA,MO,AR) has the parks I still need to visit. I need to finish up IN and check out MI sometime.

It's official now, GateKeeper will have the Worlds TALLEST Inversion- http://www.cedarpoint.com/blog-artic...g-More-Records
That's insane to think about. I just wish it had a traditional first drop- I know that might put me in the minority. I just adored Wild Eagle's first drop so much, I can't imagine how a half loop would be THAT much better.

Well, at least it has an airtime hill so it will have a traditional drop even if it's not the first. I like the inverting drop on X-Flight so doing it from 50 feet higher is going to be awesome. It might also be an issue of space since the inverting drop really does seem to save a lot of space although the layout for GateKeeper sure isn't a small layout by any means stretching across the entire length of the fromt of the park.

I only live an hour away from Cedar Point I can't wait for GateKeeper.
I meant to comment about this a couple weeks ago when I took a close look at the rendering of the ride.

Looks great, right? On further inspection, I noticed something. The station...it looks so familiar, where have I seen it before? Oh yeah...I know
http://www.sixflags.com/greatamerica/xflight/index.html
(click Ride Facts. It wouldn't link directly to that picture.)
As most of us know, Six Flags Great America did not build that station. So it got to wondering, is that just a rendering from B&M and it's up to the park to build the station as they want. Or was this the intended station for SFGAM and then decided against it? I wonder if Cedar Point will build this station. I'd hope so as I always liked how the station looks in the renderings. I know the Gatekeeper picture isn't the best but when I was at the park a couple weeks ago and looking at the big picture of it outside what was left of Disaster Transport, it looked exactly the same as the proposed X-Flight station including the little windows between the top roof and the lower roofs that extend out from the station.

There she goes! The Space Spiral came down by controlled implosion today.
I would like Gatekeeper to get a checkered paint job/graphics of black and yellow under the lift hill steps for the train load of people to see as the train falls out of the twist n drop and approaches the first Immelman. Maybe a banner can appear under the steps along the path of sight of the riders because this Immelmann will be rather close to the lift hill.

That reminds me of Hurricane Category 5 at Myrtle Beach Pavilion. I love the physics of how the cabin travels up the tower on the way down.

From the Gatekeeper fb page.
The bottom of the first drop is completed. The entrance and exit of the Immelmann are almost done. The twisted top of it just needs to be added.

I forgot it does a big hill. That's kind of rare for the looping variety for a major sized element. Then the giant corkscrew. No traditional loop. That's a surprise. X-Flight went that way with a lot of rolls that cross at a X. I'll give X-Flight credit for not having a MCBR that just leads to a helix afterwards. It's short enough at small SFGAM it didn't need one.
I'll probably end up screwing up again. I'm following the other projects more closely.
Perhaps a reposting of the layout will help us out in the posts to come.
