<BR>Cedar Point traditionally opens there main gates at 9:00am and the rides start at 10:00am.For some reason this year,CP wont be opening the gates till 10:00am,so both the gates and the rides open at the same time.

Maybe they don't like to keep their guests waiting with nothing to do but shop. Maybe they didn't gain enough in that hour so it wasn't worth it to them although it may be to you.
Funny you say that. On Friday, they opened th gates at 9 and then on Saturday and Sunday it was 10. Strange.
It really depends on the day. Sometimes it's 9:00 sometimes 9:30 and sometimes 10:00.
i asked CP this question and this is what they told me. Everyday the gates open at 9:30 except on Saturday the gates open at 9:00.
ya know how peeps run to MF in the morning in that big mob, im waiting for someone to get injured badly from being trampled in that!
I remember when CP used to open at 9 am every day. I believe the reason for the change is partially due to the exclusive ride time days offered to us lucky season pass/joe cool club members which are generally during the week. As for the "running of the bulls", it really isn't as bad as it looked on the Discovery Channel program last night. People do run, but I've yet to see anyone get knocked down or trampled. Not to mention security officers keep them in control.

Yeah, security keeps far more control over the opening than it would appear on TV. Although, I must admit, to see that much excitement is just a great way to kick off a day at the park.

I was there on Sat June 2 and gates opened at 8:45, my watch wasn't wrong cause its tuned to the atomic clock in Boulder

I was just at Cedar Point for the first time on July 14th which was a Saturday and they opened the gates at 9am and started the rides up at the same time. I got in line for MF at 9:20 and was off it by 9:50
It's a good idea to get there around 9 or 9:30.
I think They should open the park at like 8 but have no rides open however you can wait in the queue line.
That's what they used to do except they did it at 9:00.
