After months of planning, development, and testing, ThrillNetwork announced today that it has released the new version of its Ride & Park Database with new features unique to the section while incorporating a more enhanced user experience.
While keeping most of its look and feel that has graced it since December of 2003, it has been updated for easier viewing and to incorporate a slightly cleaner look. In addition, the database incorporates several new features. Some of the new features include:
- New, easier-to-remember location (http://database.thrillnetwork.com/)
- Conversion between English and Metric units and the ability to save the default unit measure in a member’s control panel
- Enhanced search features, including basic and advanced search options
- An easier way to rate your favorite rides and parks
- Timelines for each park
- Random trivia on the database front page
- Random photos on the park and ride pages, along with the home page (coming soon)
- Database photos now include statistics, including the author and other information
- Enhanced park and ride counts, including the ability to track the number of visits to each ride or park, and new user statistics based on that information
- and more!
"I’m excited for the new, more powerful upgrades," said Bryan Wood, Senior Database Editor for ThrillNetwork. "It will help as we continue the task of adding non-coaster rides to our database."
James Nocito, Database Editor, said: "It looks really nice. It’s a big improvement from the old database… it also has more member interaction, and the search works so much better now as the way the rides are listed have improved."
The enhancements to the database were done entirely by our staff technical administrator Graham Kelly, with assistance from Steven Heicher (consulting) and Jerry Huster (graphics).
