Site Announcements: Welcome to ThrillNetwork, Version 4.0!

Posted Sunday, April 5th, 2009 at 11:07 pm by Steven

After over five and a half years of the previous design, ThrillNetwork is proud to announce this new redesign!

This version of ThrillNetwork has been at least two years in the making, with a focus on several issues that have been a problem in the past.   New features include…

  • New, wider layout, including new menu system
  • New blog-style, allowing better sharing and social networking
  • Story commenting now in the forums
  • Cleaned up sections that were not being used

Since this is a new system, please keep in mind that there are bound to be some bugs.  We will be working these out over the coming days, but if you spot something, please don’t hesitate to tell us.

As a note, you will want to clear your cookies, or at least the ones for thrillnetwork.com or database.thrillnetwork.com.  To help, we have a page where you can clear all of your cookies here.

This is a demonstration of the new commenting system.

You will see this both on the forums and on the news section. Formatting will also carryover, as will your avatar and such.

I'm back. Thanks for unlocking the doors and letting us into Thrillnetwork.

Thank you very much for the new version, the site looks very nice!

It is a great improvement and I hope you can now rest from all of the hatred that seems to be given to the site.

I'll have to check this out later on my laptop but I'm not noticing the difference yet on my phone browser. I'll probably see the changes later and it'll be obvious.

I'm not sure if it's caching info on your phone... they can be be very weird since some phones can go through cached proxies from their ISP.

The forum itself has the same color scheme, though.

Great job guys! I'm really enjoying the new look. My absolute favorite thing is that the front page "blog" carries over into the forums. Beautiful system!

  7. Martin's Avatar Martin says:

Nicely done guys. It's refreshing to see something new.

  8. Great! The site looks awsome. Good Job

  9. Is there no SpeedZone anymore?

  10. ElBarto's Avatar ElBarto says:

In my opinion, this is the BEST coaster website on the net.

Giving the site a facelift only makes it better! Thanks guys, things are neatly tidy'd up, but not drastically so we can still all find the stuff we need. The site looks great!

As for SpeedZone, you can pretty much do everything you could in the previous SpeedZone in the forums, better in my opinion. Its easier and familiar to leave comments, upload images and files, and show off your creation.

  13. Steven's Avatar Steven says:

If there's enough demand for it, I can augment the SpeedZone forums for file sharing.

  14. Brian F's Avatar Brian F says:

I'm joining in with the applause for the new look. Thanks to those who worked hard to make this happen.

  15. Awesome job on the new site. I really love it.

  16. Steven it looks great!
