Another Reason To Scream This October
10/2/2003
LARGO, Md. (ThrillNetwork.com) -- Get your “scream” on this fall – whether it’s on a thrill ride or at a haunted attraction – at Six Flags America’s annual spooktacular event, Fright Fest!  Six Flags America, the region’s pioneer in theme park Halloween festivities, does it again: hosts the area’s most original, unique and awe-inspiring Halloween-themed celebration for Guests of all ages every Friday night, Saturday and Sunday, October 3 through November 2.

In addition to all the spooky, scary and hair-raising Halloween-themed attractions that begin as night falls, the thrilling *rides and awesome roller coasters that Six Flags America is famous for will remain open during FRIGHT FEST 2003.  FRIGHT FEST 2003 shows and activities roll into action at approximately at 5 p.m. each operating night, with some attractions running continuously, while others open at designated times.  A FRIGHT FEST 2003 show schedule will be made available for all Guests at the Main Gate.

What would Halloween be without a truly haunted house?  Six Flags America is home to **Brutal Planet – a haunted house like no other that uses terrifying high-tech special effects and a unique mix of sci-fi and rock-and-roll to send visitors into a new dimension of fear.  New this Fright Fest season, purchase a Fast Lane Pass for $10 and Brutal Planet admission is included! (That’s a $5 value.)

Other “scary” adventures for strong-willed souls include the Midnight Express Haunted Train where ghosts and monsters appear out of the darkness as this ghostly locomotive passes through the dangerous thickets surrounding Six Flags America.  Dare to enter Hall Manor – House of Horrors, an abandoned residence for decades where spirits remain and do not take kindly to intruders.

Or check out Zambora, where, as urban legend would have it, a woman is lost while hiking amidst the Amazon and by the mysterious powers of the unknown – along with a full moon – she is transformed into…a wild beast of the jungle!!

Looking for a kid-friendly version of Halloween?  Six Flags America has that too! Maryland’s only theme park puts a festive twist on the traditional trick-or-treat just for kids!  Parents will love watching their children search for goodies scavenger-hunt style from “candy post” to “candy post” in a safe and exciting environment in Looney Tunes Movie Town - renamed for Halloween fun as Looney Tunes Spooky Town.  The Trick or Treat
Trail is open to kids under 54”, operating nightly from 5 - 8 p.m. during FRIGHT FEST 2003.  As an additional bonus, for the first two weekends of FRIGHT FEST 2003, one of the “candy posts” will distribute a FREE ticket for a child admission to the park next spring.  That ticket will be valid from opening day through April 25th, 2004.

Remember too, ride season is not over yet for tiny Halloween thrill-seekers! Kids can take full advantage of all 12 pint-sized rides in Looney Tunes Movie Town like Sylvester’s Pounce and Bounce and Daffy’s Tour Bus.  Then off to play inside a giant inflatable pumpkin or perhaps a whirl in the Not-So-Scary Kiddie Hayride or possibly a walk through the Children’s Not-So-Haunted Haunted House – all designed specifically with small ghouls and goblins in mind. Kids will also take pleasure in the antics of children’s magician, The Amazing Eric Redman, as he performs on stage at the Crazy Horse Saloon.  Catch dinner and a few “tricks” or join in a round of Karaoke in between Eric’s slight-of-hand feats!

Other “family oriented” attractions include Fright Lights, a hayride through a brilliant display of twinkling Halloween themed lights as well as the Patient Creatures’ Theater featuring Carpathian’s Ghost Stories by Day and Grim’s Scary Tales by Night.  During FRIGHT FEST 2003, the Looney Tunes Theater is home to spooky creatures that tell ghost stories in the daylight and as dusk falls, the tales turn more frightening to match the darkness outside.

FRIGHT FEST 2003 also features seasonally-themed live shows including the Terror in Tombtown stunt show, Joe Romano – Beyond Magic - an exciting illusion/magic show and Halloween Hypnosis featuring a master hypnotist, Puck.

In the action-packed adventure Terror in Tombtown, Guests join the residents of Coyote Creek as they defend themselves against the spirits of dead outlaws.  Watch the fun and frights unfold in this one of kind Western show full of high falls, practical jokes and possibly a “scream” or two!

Call it  “magic” or simply call it “unbelievable,” but master magician and illusionist Joe Romano is up to some NEW “tricks!”  See his mesmerizing illusions in the incredible Halloween magic show appropriately named Joe Romano – Beyond Magic in Six Flags America’s Grand Theater.  These tricks boggle the mind and are unbelievable to the naked eye.

Not a believer of magic…how about hypnosis?  See first-hand with Six Flags America’s mesmerizing performance of Halloween Hypnosis featuring Puck.  In this light-hearted entertaining show, members selected (voluntarily) from the live Guest audience are hypnotized for fun-filled laughs by the amazing and highly entertaining master hypnotist, Puck.  Each show is sure to be different from the last!!  Check out Halloween Hypnosis featuring Puck between Joe Romano – Beyond Magic in the Grand Theater twice nightly!
