LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Cynthia Harriss has resigned as president of the Disneyland Resort and has been replaced by Matt Ouimet, the former Disney Cruise Line president.

Faced with a slumpling post 9/11 economy, lagging theme park revenues, and a slumping economy its no suprise to see the head of Disneyland leave. Yes, Cynthia may claim that she is leaving for personal reasons but as it is seen every day at Disneyland, she has not done the job. At Disneyland not only are there fewer park visitors but many parts of the park are falling apart or are in need of serious repair. Employee morale is not what it used to be, Cynthia did nothing to stop this problem.
Will Matt Ouimet be better for Disneyland? Only time will tell, but seeing how Cynthia handled Disneyland he can't do much worse.
