4/23/2003 April 23, 2003 -- After fierce opposition against Alton Towers request for a wooden roller coaster permit, the Alton Towers locals opposed once more against plans of the park. Alton Towers has applied for a late-night entertainment licence at its new hotel, which was immediately opposed to fiercely by the locals. The Splash Landings Hotel and Conference Centre at Alton Towers has requested a licence for its bar to stay open until 1.30am Monday to Saturday and until 11pm on Sunday. The hotel is expected to open June 1st.
