News: New Asst. General Manager for Hersheypark

Dec. 2nd, 2003 -- HERSHEY—Frank J. O’Connell, General Manager of Hersheypark, announced the promotion of Andrew W.P. Helmer to Assistant General Manager of Operations, Hersheypark.

In his new position, Helmer will oversee the following Hersheypark departments: Food & Beverage, Retail, Games, Entertainment, ZooAmerica, Guest Services, and Wardrobe. Helmer will report directly to O’Connell.

Helmer began his career with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (the owner of Hersheypark) in 1992 as Personnel and Training Coordinator for the Hersheypark Food & Beverage Department. In 1993, he was promoted to Assistant Human Resources Manager, Hersheypark. In 1995, Helmer transferred to the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Corporate Offices where he worked in the Compensation & Benefits Department until 1999.

In 1999, Helmer left Hershey Entertainment & Resorts to work as Manager of Compensation and Benefits Manager for Harris Savings & Loan. In 2000, Helmer returned to Hersheypark as Director of Human Resources for Hersheypark, the position he held at the time of this promotion.
